From the standpoint of protein synthesis and muscle repair, IGF-1 injections have also been shown to enhance the anticatabolic effects of insulin and to increase the protein synthesis normally induced by growth hormone. This is because, like insulin, IGF-1 encourages amino acid uptake into muscle cells, stimulates peripheral tissue uptake of glucose (which lowers blood glucose levels), and suppresses liver glucose production. That last fact is important and is actually why IGF-1 is even being considered as a diabetes-prevention drug. Insulin resistance can cause the liver to produce excess glucose, which then causes even more insulin insensitivity and can eventually result in type II diabetes, and IGF-1 can decrease the need for this type excessive insulin release.
Up to the date of this paper, six clinical trials (three single dose studies and three multiple dose studies from which 2 were long-term studies) have been conducted with AOD9604. In none of the three acute dose-escalating studies (METAOD001 - METAOD003) were there reported any AEs related to the intake of AOD9604, withdrawals from the study caused by AOD9604 or SAEs reported. No treatment related differences were identified upon administration of AOD9604 by IV injection (25 µg - 400 µg/kg bodyweight) or orally (9 mg - 54 mg). Treatment with AOD9604 as a single dosage had no effect on physical examination, vital signs, laboratory parameters, ECG, blood glucose and IGF-1 levels, with results indistinguishable from placebo.

Cancer can often be a process of uncontrolled cellular division. IGF-1 is not only pro-growth in a way that could increase this cellular division, but IGF-1 also inhibits apoptosis, or programmed cell death. Hence the theory among some in the medical community that tumors could increase synthesis of IGF-1 to keep themselves alive and to encourage the spread of cancer throughout the body. This doesn’t mean that IGF-1 directly causes cancer.
Both human GH (hGH) and a lipolytic fragment (AOD9604) synthesized from its C-terminus are capable of inducing weight loss and increasing lipolytic sensitivity following long-term treatment in mice. One mechanism by which this may occur is through an interaction with the beta-adrenergic pathway, particularly with the beta(3)-adrenergic receptors (beta(3)-AR). Here we describe how hGH and AOD9604 can reduce body weight and body fat in obese mice following 14 d of chronic ip administration. These results correlate with increases in the level of expression of beta(3)-AR RNA, the major lipolytic receptor found in fat cells. Importantly, both hGH and AOD9604 are capable of increasing the repressed levels of beta(3)-AR RNA in obese mice to levels comparable with those in lean mice. The importance of beta(3)-AR was verified when long-term treatment with hGH and AOD9604 in beta(3)-AR knock-out mice failed to produce the change in body weight and increase in lipolysis that was observed in wild-type control mice. However, in an acute experiment, AOD9604 was capable of increasing energy expenditure and fat oxidation in the beta(3)-AR knock-out mice. In conclusion, this study demonstrates that the lipolytic actions of both hGH and AOD9604 are not mediated directly through the beta(3)-AR although both compounds increase beta(3)-AR expression, which may subsequently contribute to enhanced lipolytic sensitivity.
To obtain the best results from a fat loss program, and the most amount of fat loss from your peptide supplementation, you should be following a diet which is high in protein, moderate in healthy fats and low in carbohydrates, and be physically active. At the very least you should be doing some high-intensity lifting a couple of times a week alongside the implementation of cardio. You should also have your hormone levels balanced to optimise your metabolism.
A total number of 207 AEs were reported by 36/36 subjects. All but one was of mild to moderate intensity (placebo-treated subject, soft tissue injury to left shoulder, unrelated to study treatment). No SAE occurred during the 7-day treatment and the 7-day follow-up time. The rate as well as the AE profile was comparable in the 9 mg, 27 mg AOD9604 and the placebo group. There was no observable trend between treatment groups with respect to the incidence of certain AEs, however subjects who received 54 mg AOD9604 experienced a greater number of headaches, diarrhea and flatulence.
Human Growth Hormone (hGH) is not only important for growth processes during childhood, but plays a pivotal role in lipid metabolism throughout life. It is well known that hGH is involved in the regulation of lipolysis and lipogenesis. Therefore, hGH was implicated as a good potential candidate for the treatment of obesity. However undesired side effects, such as induction of glucose intolerance and insulin resistance, diabetes, acromegaly, cancer, edema, and hypertension [10-13] rendered therapeutic doses of hGH unsuitable for long-term treatments in humans.

It's really tough to tell. It has properties that suggest it might be, but the evidence simply doesn't exist to make any definitive claims. AOD9604 was designed as a modified fragment of growth hormone. The original intention was to create a drug that has the effect on adipose (fat) cells of growth hormone, without the other effects. This sort of drug development is littered with failures, because replicating a sequence of amino acids is not the same as replicating a protein and its effects. It's not just the chemical composition of a protein that determines how it interacts with other molecules (especially endocrine receptors, like those that growth hormone acts on), but also how that protein folds. There's only really one way to tell what your compound actually does, and that's to try it out.
Cerebrolysin: A mixture of peptides extracted from pig brain that supports the development and function of nerve cells, cerebrolysin can be used to treat Alzheimer’s disease and vascular dementia but because the drug needs to be injected daily, it doesn’t have a clear benefit over existing oral medication. It’s not known to have any major side effects. In sports, cerebrolysin used to enhance mental function and “defog” the brain, although there is no good evidence that it has any effect in healthy individuals. It’s not currently listed as banned under WADA, either directly or via similarity of mechanism to banned peptides.

The effect of AOD9604 and hGH on β3-ARs in adipose tissue is believed to be a direct action of these compounds and not an effect secondary to the fat metabolism, given that both AOD9604 and hGH can influence β3-AR expression and function in a nonadipocyte human cell line (11). Hence, the β3-AR appears to be necessary for the chronic effectiveness of AOD9604 on lipolysis in BAT.
